A Kumbha Moon customer favorite! This soap variety is steeped with mystical history. Legend has it that during the Black Plague, a band of four thieves continually robbed graves of the diseased dead and traveled through illness borne communities without contracting the highly contagious disease. The story goes that the thieves were actually traders of spices and oils and had liberally applied a secret mixture that protected them from the dreaded disease. It is said that they used a mixture of clove, lemon, cinnamon bark, eucalyptus, and rosemary essential oils because of their antibacterial properties and defense against airborne bacteria.
We loved this legend and of course had to create a natural soap bar to interpret the story. While we can't claim that our Four Thieves soap bar will protect you from the Black Plague, we can claim that it will provide gentle cleansing and conditioning, wonderful lather, and an intriguing scent that is slightly spicy and slightly citrus. We layered our original recipe essential soap base with a thin layer of ground rosemary, a thin layer of ground cinnamon and stirred in finely ground dried lemon peel to add gentle exfoliation.
Ingredients: saponified olive, coconut, vegetable, & castor oils; shea butter, distilled water, clove, lemon, cinnamon bark, eucalyptus & rosemary essential oil, naturally colored with turmeric, ground lemon peel, ground cinnamon, ground rosemary
